Achieving a high B-BBEE rating starts with meaningful investment in people. Meyiswa Training Academy (MTA) helps companies empower their workforce and uplift youth through fully accredited, B-BBEE aligned learnerships and skills programmes.

Who is eligible to apply?

Learners must meet all of the following to be eligible:

  • Living with a Disability or Abled
  • B-BBEE Black Person (African, Indian or Coloured)
  • South African Citizen
  • Minimum of Grade 12
  • Between the ages of 18 and 28
  • Available for a 12-month learnership program
  • Must attend mandatory practical training

Disability definition

Under the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998, a person is recognised as having a disability if they have a long-term or recurring physical or mental condition that reduces their ability to obtain or progress in employment. Disabilities can affect the body, the mind, or both. Physical disabilities include partial or complete loss of bodily function (including sensory limitations). Mental disabilities refer to medically diagnosed conditions that affect thinking, feeling, decision-making or emotions.

Required documents (originals/certified copies)
  • Proof of disability (if applicable, in accordance with the Employment Equity Act)
  • Updated CV (include tertiary qualifications and/or work experience)
  • Proof of residence
  • 2 x Certified copies of highest school qualification
  • 2 x Certified copies of ID
  • 3-month bank statement (not older than 3 months)
  • SARS tax number (Notice of Registration)

A brief pre-screening interview to assess background, abilities and communication skills.

Once validated, applicants are added to our database. Note there may be a waiting period—placements depend on client B-BBEE Skills Development needs.

Learnership Enrolment

When allocated to a learnership, you will be invited to campus to begin and sign your contract.
